We approach each project with humility, and start by listening and observing.

Our clients are collaborators. We work with them to establish project objectives, and throughout design and construction - to ensure objectives are being met.

balance

Every design decision warrants consideration of many factors, including: aesthetics, durability, budget, maintenance, and environmental footprint.

simplicity

The simplest solution is the best...and usually, the most elegant.

PEOPLE

Cameron Cole Carcelen, AIA

As the daughter of a builder, Cameron grew up around construction sites and loves the synergy of turning building systems into a home that is more than the sum of its parts.

Her Master of Architecture & Certificate of Ecological Design are from the University of Oregon, her B.A. is from N.Y.U., and she's a licensed architect in Connecticut and New York. She worked at Amanda Martocchio Architecture prior to launching Ridge Architecture.
When not in the studio, she's usually tinkering in her garden, running, cycling, or working on an imaginative project with her kids.

Nicolas Carcelen

Nico brings many years of experience as a project manager and senior designer to Ridge Architecture. The first half of his career was in the public sector, overseeing large-scale community design projects.

More recently, he has narrowed the scope of his practice from urban landscapes to individual buildings. .

He holds a B.Arch (P.U.C. Ecuador) and Master of Science in Sustainable Architecture (T.U. Darmstadt). He loves making - and admiring! - beautiful objects, including bicycles, furniture, and experimental, geometric ceramics.

But most importantly... Soccer.
CLIENT COMMENT
"We had our third event this month and the flow worked really well!
We had two ten-person dinner parties in the kitchen. The server was able to bring things in and take things back to the pantry so no one saw our mess.
Yesterday, we had 35+ people for an event. Everyone gathered in the kitchen (which got accolades for its design!) with the buffet as the bar, then we retreated to the living room where everyone sat and heard from [the speaker]. It went really, really well. The design works just as I hoped it would. Thank you!" - J.O., North Salem, New York
"I love the bathroom. The shower is fantastic. The heated floor is a dream. And the whole design is just beautiful. Thank you so much." - C.H., New Canaan, Connecticut
