FARMHOUSE
This renovation of a historic farmhouse in Ridgefield, Connecticut was designed as an homage to the home's original assets, while updating it to accommodate a modern lifestyle.
Original woodwork, Doug fir flooring, some lighting, and some metalwork were preserved and repaired while interior spaces were transformed into a more modern open plan.
New design details are intentionally understated and - while modern - deferential to the historic character of the home.
Interior design is similarly restrained. Simple patterns and textures; warm, natural materials, and white walls form a cohesive natural palette that subtly glows in natural light. New and old connect, creating a space that feels simple, light, modern, and warm.
